Purpose – The Five G’s
As a community of faith, we are devoted to:
- Glorify God
- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” Mark 12:30
- Gather with God’s family
- “Since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to one another, and each of us needs all the others.” Romans 12:5
- Grow like Christ
- “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5
- Give your life to God’s work
- “Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” 1 Peter 4:10
- Go in mission to God’s world
- Jesus said, “Go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be assured of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
- “…when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me.” Matthew 25:40
“They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord’s Supper and in prayer…And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had…And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:42-47
