Hospitality & Facilities

Hospitality is a priority at ChristChurch. And the heart of our hospitality ministry is to provide a warm welcome and a friendly, accepting atmosphere to all who enter. We have several key leaders and teams who serve to make it a reality. First serve opportunities include personal training and on-the-job or “shadowing” experiences (you get to shadow someone and see what it’s like until you know the ropes).

“Welcome one another...as Christ has welcomed you, to the glory of God.” Romans 15:7

First Touch

The First Touch Team serves to welcome and host people on Sunday morning and other special events. Their hospitality begins even before people reach the front door. Their warm welcome and personal service is a vital part of our life together. The team serves on rotation and weekly tasks include: greeting people at the door, handing out bulletins and helping people to find seating.

Our Coffee ChristChurch Team provides a warm, friendly cup of coffee or tea to encourage new connections and good conversations. In the kitchen or at the Student Ministry Coffee Cart, the team serves to prepare refreshments for everyone on Sunday mornings and special events. This intrepid crew brews coffee, heats water, sets out pots and all the fixings—even assists students whip up fine lattes and hot chocolates—so the rest of us can enjoy time together after worship in the Commons Café. The team serves on rotation; people simply sign up for Sundays they’re available.

Commons Cafe' Book Share & Resource Center

We have a wonderful array of books and resources in our Commons Café. And here’s the wonderful part: it’s a book share! ChristChurch friends donate quality, Christian books for others to read, to enjoy and to return at their leisure so others can enjoy them too. We also have great resources to enjoy and return: cassette tapes, CD’s, a small library of biblical reference books and more. If you have books to share or want to help sort and maintain the Book Share library, let us know.

Connection & Care

Our Connection & Care Ministry offers a warm, timely, contact with newcomers and responds to

questions and requests. What happens when someone fills out a Welcome Card? Perhaps makes a request for information? We have a ministry that serves to follow up—often by email, sometimes by phone. The team simply makes contact and passes on requests to our ministry leaders. This is a service you can offer from home. Other possibilities for follow up include care notes to those on our prayer list. The team serves on rotation, picking up Welcome Cards and passing on referrals.

Facilities

The Facilities Team serves to keep the building and grounds in good condition. The team does minor repairs and maintenance, such as patching and painting; a group also provides seasonal décor in the Entry and other common areas. The team is also responsible for longer-term planning to ensure the timely upkeep of the facility and grounds. First serve opportunities include taking part in an upcoming repair task or a seasonal project like planting flowers. People serve based on availability and often on a Saturday. We have several areas of service:
