A God-inspired challenge

Since our first summer as a young mission church in 1997 we have partnered with Willamette-West Habitat for Humanity. Just last summer we launched our “Hammering Hope Home” (HHH) project and are committed to sponsor and build a Habitat house this year. It’s a God-sized challenge to sponsor a Habitat house: $55,000 and 3000 volunteer hours! But we believe that with God all things are possible.

Our Habitat family

We are building a home for a family of nine—that’s a mom, a dad, five brothers and two sisters ranging from 14 years to 1 year old. With God’s help, by next fall the Farrah family will have a new home and a new address: 7260 Lindsay Lane in Hillsboro.

Fundraising goal blown away!

Fundraising efforts got an inspired jump start when Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity, came to town last summer and spoke at a benefit breakfast. We also received a grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Other fundraisers included a dinner theater auction and individual efforts.

The results: we surpassed our goal by $19,700! Every dollar above and beyond will support future Willamette-West Habitat projects. Thank God and all those who were able to give.

Calling all builders and volunteers

Construction of their five bedroom home has begun. We are looking for willing workers and lunch providers.

We have a schedule of work parties so you can take part whenever possible. Regular workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 8 am – 4 pm. In the summer we’ll also have blitz weeks for those able to donate days at a time.

Join us and help build an affordable home for a deserving, low-income family that will work right alongside us. We are hammering hope home!
