Worship & Music Ministry

At the heart of worship is a celebration…the celebration of God’s love for us and for all people through Christ. So worship at ChristChurch is marked by a spirit of joy. It is also a team effort. We have dedicated teams of people serving up front and behind the scenes to support our worship life. We incorporate the creative use of the worship arts and techology available today—from music to multimedia. So people with a variety of skills, interests and gifts are able to contribute. Our worship teams are always ready to welcome someone new. Consider the possibilities and contact one of our worship team leaders.

Music is a major part of our worship life. On Sunday mornings the

Music Team leads us in song and offers special music to inspire our worship. The team rehearses Tuesday evenings and serves on a rotational basis. The repertoire includes music by leading Christian songwriters of today, as well as some of the great inspirational hymns
of our Christian tradition.

The Music Team welcomes students and adults with musical skills and the ability to read music and play by charts—vocalists and instrumentalists (keyboard, guitar, drums, or any string, brass or wind instrument). Auditions are a requirement for those who desire to serve as musicians in worship.

Other opportunities to serve include a seasonal choir (e.g. Christmas, Easter) and administrative support (sheet music filing and organization).

Communion is a celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The Communion Team serves to set up and clean up

for our celebrations of the Lord’s Supper twice a month, as well as special events (e.g. Ash Wednesday or a Christmas Eve service). Opportunities to serve include:

Set up/clean up Communion (Monthly)

Help serve Communion (during the worship service you attend; on a rotating basis)

Scheduling Communion servers (twice a month)

Helping to track and order Communion supplies

Tech/Multimedia

Tech and multimedia offer a way for people to serve who love to be involved but behind the scenes.

Volunteers serve Sundays on a rotational basis. Tasks and training are available for any level of experience. We are glad to provide training for those without experience who desire to learn and take part. Our Tech Team and Multimedia Ministry are an integral part of our worship life and special events. Opportunities to serve include:

Audio Mixing/Sound Board

Visual (PowerPoint) operation

Technical Support for ChristChurch computer systems

Multimedia/Video Projects (e.g. short DVD pieces, video interviews)

Drama

Our drama ministry serves to present thought-provoking and real life (as well as humorous) messages to highlight Sunday themes and turn our hearts and minds toward God. It offers occasional sketches for worship services and special events.

It’s possible to serve in a variety of ways:

Sunday morning dramas

Special events (Christmas, Church Picnic)

Drama scripts (ideas; writer; secure resources)

“Prop” support (acquisition, set up and break down)

We’re always delighted to meet someone with some drama background, but no acting experience is necessary to be part of the team and all ages are welcome.
