Are you interested in getting a head start on engaging with the scripture texts that form the basis for preaching each Sunday morning in worship?
Join us on Thursday, April 29th, at 7pm, for the next edition of TEXTtalks… a monthly conversation on the texts we hear in worship. Join me and others as we read through the upcoming Bible stories and ask ourselves… what do we notice? what do we wonder about?
In this upcoming session, we will discuss the following stories for the month of April. These include texts from the book of Acts and from the letter to the Galatians:
Texts to discuss and corresponding date for worship service:
Acts 15:1-18 Council at Jerusalem: May 2
Galatians 1:13-17; 2:11-21 Living by Faith: May 9
Galatians 3:1-9, 23-29 One in Christ: May 16
Acts 2:1-18 Pentecost: May 23 🔥I look forward to this opportunity to engage with God’s word in community.
I invite you to read these texts ahead of time and come ready to join the discussion.
NOTE: After our April conversation the monthly TEXTtalks Bible Conversations will pause over the summer and resume in early September.
Peace,
Pastor David

Special Congregational Meeting Recap
Thank you to everyone that attended the March 14, 2021 special congregational meeting. A motion passed to approve Mark and Inga Henderson to be voting members for the upcoming 2021 Oregon Synod Annual Assembly.
Tracy Litterer provided an update from the Reconciling in Christ (RIC) team and shared the rationale behind their decision to postpone the vote until the June 6th Annual Meeting. She cited new feedback from ReconcilingWorks regarding our proposed Welcome Statement and said the team will use the time until June to make small but important wording changes and educate the congregation on the changes and their significance.
Save the date for our annual meeting: Sunday, June 6th, 2021 after worship.
